Having slept in my own sleeping bag I woke up with eyes only half as puffy as the night before. I wonder what I can do to half the remaining puffiness again. In terms of work, J. tried to help with the sap-flow system but some of the instructions were missing and Y. borrowed my computer because his computer was dying. On top of it, the soldering iron did not do its job and so everything J. proceeded to show me got cut short in the process. We tried once more in a hapless manner to get the internet going but to no avail. So we all send messages home with C., who is attempting to make her way back to Cuzco across the landslide, having not been able to cross it yesterday. Trying out equipment on the balcony, with the sun blazing down and the view to 'the Amazon' as clear as it hadn't been before made things slightly less bad.
At least I have tools and clothes. In the afternoon we even managed to download data from the weather station. L. also reminded me that in our line of work everything goes wrong all the time and that I should enjoy the great landscape. I guess one should make sure that there's always a Brazilian nearby.
